The real You framed into a timeless portrait
When should I schedule my session?
Permitting the date is available, you can schedule your session any time you want, even if it's a year in advance! A non-refundable down payment of 25% is required to secure your date. This deposit is applied to your total balance due.
How do you take payments?
To book and lock in your session date, we require a 25% non-refundable. You can do this as far in advance as you like. The remaining 75% balance must be paid within two weeks before your session day. The retainer is only transferable if Maddie Dean Photography needs to cancel the session due to circumstances beyond my control or inclement weather. The remaining balance can be paid as one lump sum or in smaller increments over time -- The only requirement is that it be paid in full before the actual session . I accept credit cards, checks and money orders. There is a $25 fee for returned checks.
Where do sessions take place?
Maddie Dean Photography always shoots on location with natural light. I am constantly seeking out earthy backgrounds, urban settings and everything in between for future photo shoots. If you have a place in mind, I would love to hear about it as well. I have offered referral rewards for location information and connections as well, not just for sending your family and friends to me. During your pre-session consultation, we will discuss your location to make sure it's the perfect fit for your personal style and vision for the photos.
What if my location choice has a permit fee?
I will gladly shoot at locations that require permits. However, the client is responsible for paying any associate fees in addition to the session cost.
Are you available outside of Shiner
Yes. My session fee includes travel within 30 miles of Shiner. I will consider further locations upon request. There is $0.67/mile surcharge sessions beyond the 30 mile radius.
What happens if it rains the day of the shoot?
If it rains on the day of your shoot, we can reschedule for another day. Alternatively, we can find a way to move your session to an indoor location so we don't have to mess with Mr. Raincloud. If it's just a little gloomy, we can often still shoot outdoors without a problem. In fact, cloud coverage makes for some gorgeous photographs. Maddie Dean Photography will keep an eye out for potential weather problems and adjust accordingly at the closer time.
What happens if my child freaks out?
This is a completely normal fear and I get it. Kids are unpredictable and sometimes a temper tantrum is inevitable. When this happens, we will simply take a little break, allow you to calm your child down by talking/feeding/playing and then take the appropriate steps to easing back into the session. We will never force photos or send you on your way. That's a promise! Sometimes those candid photographs end up being the family favorites.
Do you have mini sessions?
Maddie Dean Photography hosts several mini sessions throughout the year and I would love to have you sign up for one! I typically do holiday mini sessions, which make for great holiday greeting cards. Stay up to date by "following" us on Facebook. facebook.com/maddie_dean_photography
May I bring props?
Props can really make a session pop. I do have some props to choose from and we can discuss needs during the pre-session consultation. With that said, I am very open to using your props, too. In fact, I love that idea! Incorporating elements you bring helps personalize the photographs. Seniors are highly encouraged to bring school memorabilia such as trophies, championship rings, letterman jacket, family pet or even your livestock project for 4H or FFA. Little kids bringing along their special lovies makes for beautiful photographs to really capture their youth and innocence. The possibilities are endless.
May I share the photos on social media?
Of course! We love it when people share our photographs, sharing with your family and friends is the highest form of compliment.
You are allowed to make unlimited prints from these images for your own personal use. However, Maddie Dean Photography still retains copyrights to these images and therefore, under NO circumstances can you use these images for profit, commercial endeavors, in competitions, or for professional display. Images are not to be altered or edited in any way, including but not limited to cropping or adding social media filters.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes! I do! If you send a client to Maddie Dean Photography and they book a session, you will be gifted either a $50 printing credit or 20% off your next session package, including mini sessions. The best compliment I can get is a referral, so there is no limit to the number of clients you send to me!
Can you change my appearance?
I use photoshop for artistically enhancing photographs and to remove any distractions that may pop into our background on location. Everyone is beautiful in the body that God blessed them with; therefore I am unable to make cosmetic changes to clients. At the parent's request I offer up to 5 complimentary touch ups for small blemishes such as a dreaded zit on a teen or small cuts on a toddler. Additional edits are $5 per image and must be requested within 7 days of receiving your gallery and paid in full before work is completed. I will not perform any major "digital plastic surgery" to alter physical appearances - including but not limited to slimming, hair color, double chins, etc. I appreciate your understanding of this policy.
Why was my session time shorter than the booking states?
This could be one of two reasons!
1) Clients were smooth to work with, posing went easy with everyone participating, and we didn't need to go the full length of time to get your a gallary's worth of images! This is typically standard when families have older kids.
2) Little ones are just too fussy and even taking a break isn't getting them settled. I often ask mom and dad and siblings to just step away as sometimes parents can escalate things even when not intending to. If the kiddo is just done, we will end the session with what I got - a few photos of a fit are cute to remind them some day, but no one wants a gallery full of screaming kiddos with red faces and crocodile tears!
Do you offer reshoots?
I pride myself on quality, consistent work. Each gallery will accurately reflect my shooting and editing styles.
Maddie Dean Photography does not offer reshoots for circumstances beyond my control such as poor client cooperation and participation - refusal to smile, be attentive, etc or for poor wardrobe choices - wrinkles, ill fitting, see through, etc. If at any time a family member because mouthy and difficult with the photographer, Maddie Dean Photography has the right to terminate the session and no refund will be given. This includes inappropriate verbal abuse towards photographer or present family members as well as any rude and obscene gestures towards the photographer during the session.
